Gold

My first fall in the Flathead region has been a memorable one.  The colors are truly amazing from the gold aspens to the yellow tamaracks.  It has been fun to see the drastic changes from season to season.

Flowers in the Wagon, Oil on Canvas   6"x8"
I created this little painting this morning to get the dramatic first light. It was a bit cold (about 30 degrees) But felt much colder in the wind. Finished up in the studio.

Halloween at Nikki's, Oil on Canvas   8"x6"
This large stately home in Kalispell's East Side was lit up for the season on this crisp fall night.

Mt. Brown Dawn, Oil on Canvas   6"x8"
On a crisp late summer morning, Mt. Brown was lit up dramatically while the river and nearby hillside remained in shadow.

Two Medicine Gold, Oil on Canvas   6"x8"
The aspens on Glacier's east side were at peak color on this perfect day.

Lavender Fields, Oil on Canvas   6"x8"
The north shore of Flathead lake was adorned with lovely lavender colored wild flowers.

St. Marys Gold, Oil on Canvas   8"x10"
This classic viewpoint of St. Marys Lake was perfectly lit on this fall evening in which the foliage showed its red and gold fall hues.

Tamaracks in Gold, Oil on Canvas   8"x10"
On this picture perfect autumn day, Bowman lake was ringed by a multitude of fall colored tamaracks.
