Patti and I made a brief trip to the Flathead Valley of Montana to scope out the area as a possible new home. The area has stunning beauty from Flathead Lake (the largest freshwater lake east of the Mississippi) to the impossible heights of Glacier National Park. We got a good taste of the area. I wish I could have painted more of it but I was able to complete these two pieces.

The aspens on the Flathead River were beginning to show their fall colors. The sun light shone through the billowy cloud formations to illuminate the scene. |

A Rush to the Lake, Oil on Canvas 6"x8"

MacDonald Creek winds its way along Going to the Sun Road in the heart of Glacier National Park. It eventually empties into MacDonald Lake but not before creating picturesque waterfalls such as this. |
