Some Spring Sunsets

Here are a few quick paintings created at sunset recently  I was surprised at the varying degrees of color from one day to the next.

Foy's Last Light, Oil on Canvas   4"x6"
Foy's Lake is just outside out Kalispell near lone Pine State Park.  The sun was lit up with wonderful warm colors during this one of a kind sunset.

A Golden Sundown, Oil on Canvas   6"x8"
The sun set near Ashley Lake and the sky and distant ridge took on a golden-yellow color.

Over the Ridge, Oil on Canvas   6"x8""
The exact moment the sun dipped behind the distant ridges, golden light scattered in all directions, enveloping the scene.

Sunset: West Valley, Oil on Canvas   6"x8"
As the sun set over the western ridges of the Flathead Valley, the sky took on hues of gold, salmon, and lavender .
