A Modoc Summer

Summer in Modoc County can get a bit hot.  I have been heading to the higher elevations to escape the heat where I found some beautiful alpine lakes and rushing creeks and rivers.
Slate Waters, Oil on Canvas   9"x12"
This relatively turbulent section of the South Fork Pitt River provided a wonderful opportunity to study the rushing water crash between and flow over the numersous rocks.  The slate green color of the water contrasted nicely with the bright green foliage on the shores.
